Points for Life

In July my son is getting married. I can hardly believe it. Could he be old enough to be getting married? Have I armed him with all the things he needs to make it in life? *sighs* Oh well, it's too late now. Good luck, Son!

Thinking about that, I came up with a few points about life I'd like to pass on. To be honest, these are points in life I personally do not do a good job with. I wish I would have learned them early in life. I struggle with them. However, I decided to start a "series" about these points of life I'd like to pass on to the next generation. I will outline them below and hopefully, I'd like to go in depth on each topic at a later date.

Let me add, that most of these points are not spiritual and not directly related to religion. It is NOT because I don't believe in God nor do I think God is not important. God IS important and your relationship to God is utmost important. It is SO important that you really shouldn't be reading so read more...

Cowboy up, because I'm about to shoot you in the face again.
I was in my truck last night scanning through the radio dial. I came across a talk show were the host was telling a story about a time he and his son was playing with nerf dart guns in their yard. Playing with them was a friend of theirs who was a navy seal. Rightly so, the navy seal was getting the best of them. Then his son took a dart to the face. His son started crying and he went over to console his son. Mean time the navy seal was re-loading. Then the navy seal came up to his son and said, “Cowboy up, because I’m about to shoot you in the face again.” His son stopped crying, grabbed his nerf gun and took off, playing the game again.

I think this story may apply to LOTS of areas of our lives. Sometimes, we just need to Cowboy Up.
